    A fine tribute to America

Pros: Just in time for PRESIDENTS DAY, she sings great songs

Cons: about all the presidents in a historic R+B rap song recording

WEll listen if you would of satted me down and said'hey man listen there is a great dyunamic rapping record [cd) that tells about the secret lifes of all the American PResiedents. It also contian historical facts and little know gossip (Lyndan Jo...hnson collected dead birds, Grover Cleveland had stomach pains, Calvert Coolidge was the first president to drown in office, James Arthur Buchannan had four secretaries named Edith, John Foster Dulles invetned the modern airport, Thomas Jefferson was the ninth tallest presedent, MAry Todd Lincoln had horrible dreams of bats, Charles Taft was once ate a bathtub full of pudding to celebrate the new railroad system) etc, thenI would of said NO WAY HOW COULD YOU MAKE THAT INTERESTING. WELL, Trina Lopez (Tri. Lo!) have made an exceptional that proves that rule. ASTOUNDING beats and a history lesson too! How can ask for more? I give it a A++++ like a school grade! GET IT! PLease email me now before the weekend bryanE! Read more Less

Pro Reviews: Glamorest Life

  • All Music Guide

Trina's righteous raunchiness is more than a little exhausted on Glamorest Life, the Miami MC's third album. She seems to know it too, sounding distanced and not nearly as energized as she was on 2002's Diamond Princess. That puts more weight on the productions and guest verses. Despite contributions from names like Mannie Fresh, Jazze Pha, Needlz, and rising duo Cool Dre, the productions are routinely just as lacking. Take Mannie's "Da Club," in which he more or less jacks the mistyeyed backing for Faith Evans' "Hope." Mannie also pitches in with a wistful reminiscence about a stripper, while Trina helps relate the tale and remains, as always, the one calling the shots: "He wanna cram it and jam it/Put the pickle in the middle, motherfcker, not fanny." Ironically, one of the better tracks roughly the umpteenth track to interpolate Force M.D.'s' "Tender Love" takes on a sullen tone, even though Trina's more defiant here than at any other point in the album: "I shed so many tears, ca...n't believe how many years the baddest bitch put up with your dusty ass." Lil Wayne, Lil Scrappy, Snoop Dogg, and Trey Songz provide vocal support, but very little of it raises the material's quality level. - Andy Kellman, All Music Guide Read more Less
